Travel info

Everything you need to know

What to pack

One main bag (up to 20kg) plus a small daypack. Comfortable walking shoes, layers for cool mornings and warm evenings, a swimsuit and a wide-brimmed hat.

Weather

The outback dry season runs roughly May–September. Sunny days, cool to cold nights inland, warm coastal evenings.

Fitness

Most tours are rated Moderate. If you can walk 2–3km on uneven ground, you'll do beautifully. Most walks have shorter and longer options.

Solo travellers

Around a third of every group travels solo. Twin-share with a same-gender room-mate, or pay a single supplement for your own room.

Travel insurance

Essential. We recommend cover from the day you book. Happy to suggest providers.

Getting there

Most tours start in Broome, Perth, Darwin or Kununurra. We provide airport transfers on tour start days where noted.
